Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles Platinum: What You Get

Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles Platinum status means you're a top traveler. Normally, you need to fly 50,000 miles or 45 flights in 12 months to get it. When you fly with Vietnam Airlines (flights with a VN code), Platinum members get many benefits to make their trip smoother and better.

One great benefit is priority for seats and free upgrades. This means you get priority when booking or on waitlists, and better seat choices if your flight changes. You can also pick your seat for free in advance if you buy certain ticket types (Business, Premium Economy, Economy Flex, or Economy Classic). Or, get a 50% discount on cheaper Economy fares. A very valuable perk is the chance for a free upgrade to Business Class or Premium Economy when you check in, if seats are open and your original ticket class is full or eligible. This can save you a lot of money and make your flight much more comfortable. Plus, Platinum members can get a guaranteed seat on international flights over 6 hours (if you buy the most expensive Economy ticket at least 24 hours before) and on certain domestic routes. Getting a better seat or a guaranteed spot, especially on long flights, makes travel much less stressful.

Faster airport experience is another big part of Platinum status. You and up to five friends (or unlimited if they use Lotusmiles award tickets) can use SkyPriority counters for check-in. This also includes priority at ticket counters and connecting areas, and special fast lanes at security and immigration at Noi Bai and Da Nang Airports. Priority boarding with other SkyPriority passengers also makes getting on the plane easier.

Generous baggage benefits are also a big plus. Your bags get SkyPriority tags, so they come out first when you land. Even better, you get two extra checked bags (23 kg each), which is more than the usual SkyTeam Elite Plus benefit. You can also bring one golf set for free (up to 23 kg).

Global Recognition: SkyTeam Elite Plus Power

The real global benefit of Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles Platinum status is that it's the same as SkyTeam Elite Plus. This means you get elite treatment across all 18 SkyTeam member airlines, which offer about 13,600 flights daily to 1,000 places in 160 countries. This wide network gives you a consistent premium experience no matter which SkyTeam airline you fly, making international travel much easier.

SkyTeam Elite Plus status gives you many alliance-wide priority services, called SkyPriority. These include priority check-in, baggage drop-off, and help at airport ticket and transfer desks. You also get faster security and immigration lanes where available. Priority boarding means a more relaxed start to your flight, and priority waitlists and standby give you flexibility for last-minute changes.

For baggage, SkyTeam Elite Plus members usually get one extra bag or 20 kg of checked baggage for free. This is a bit different from Vietnam Airlines' specific allowance of two extra bags. Your bags also get priority handling when you arrive.

A major benefit is worldwide lounge access. You can enter over 750 SkyTeam Business Lounges globally. · Expedited Security: Speed through security with exclusive Sky Priority security lines at select airports, especially during peak times.

· Priority Boarding: Board early through the Sky Priority lane (Zones 1-4).

· Baggage Benefits:

o Expedited baggage service ensures your bags arrive first on the carousel.

o Receive one free extra checked bag. For Main Cabin, Premium Select, and Comfort+ fares, this means one additional bag up to 23kg (50lb). For First/Delta One, it's one additional bag up to 32kg (70lb). Note that for Delta's Main Cabin, which typically doesn't include a free checked bag, this effectively means you get one free checked bag.
